Interstitial lung diseases (ILD) affect the majority of patients with autoimmune rheumatic diseases and represent a leading cause of death. While new treatments are available for ILD, numerous unanswered questions remain, including when to initiate therapy, how to select therapy, and how to define and monitory progression of ILD. This session will feature a pulmonologist and rheumatologist who are experts in ILD clinical care.

Learning Objectives:

  • Compare definitions of progressive pulmonary fibrosis in the context of autoimmune rheumatic diseases
  • Apply evidence from clinical trials to inform treatment decisions in patients with autoimmune rheumatic diseases associated with ILD
  • Appraise emerging therapies for patients with autoimmune rheumatic diseases associated with ILD
