This session will focus on practical and proactive solutions for the clinician to close the medication adherence gap, helping clinicians recognize non-adherence on a timely basis and equipping them with tools to address non-adherence, including effective communication skills and the use of novel technologies.

Learning Objectives:

  • Recognize the multitude of complex underpinnings for non-adherence, including patient- and system-level modifiable factors
  • Develop a skillset to assess and address nonadherence, focused on strengthening communication with patients around adherence challenges
  • Apply digital strategies, such as medication apps, electronic pillboxes, and social media to help patients succeed with medication adherence
