I am a pediatric rheumatologist with a MS Degree in Clinical Research whose activities include patient care, fellowship education, quality improvement, and clinical research. My research, quality improvement, and clinical interests include neurologic manifestations of systemic autoimmune disorders (primarily autoimmune encephalitis, NPSLE, APS, immune-mediated epilepsy syndromes, and CNS vasculitis) and patient-powered research in rare diseases. I am the Childhood Arthritis and Rheumatology Research Alliance (CARRA) co-director of the CARRA Inflammatory brain disease work group. An increased portion of my clinical effort is spent on standardizing and enhancing care of children with inflammatory brain disorders. As part of this effort, I obtained additional training in advanced QI. I have served as a division chief for six years and strive to enhance access to care in the Southwest.
