SistasWithPsoriaSis & The PsoriaSis Collective
Edison, New Jersey, United States
Ayesha Patrick, a New Jersey native, has lived with psoriasis nearly her entire life. Though mild in her youth, her condition worsened during the COVID-19 pandemic at age 40, covering most of her body and causing significant hair loss. Struggling to find support and resources for women of color with psoriasis, she founded Sistas with Psoriasis, an online community that grew into The PsoriaSis Collective. This initiative connects women with support services, and advocacy efforts, ensuring greater access to care and information.
A passionate advocate, Ayesha serves as a mentor and volunteer with the National Psoriasis Foundation (NPF), working to amplify Black voices in the psoriasis community. She has also participated in NPF’s Capitol Hill Day for pushing for policy changes to support those with psoriatic disease.
Beyond advocacy, Ayesha has dedicated over 21 years to child protection at the Department of Children & Families. Her greatest joy is being a mother to her two incredible children, inspiring her mission to uplift others with kindness, gratitude, and support.
