Dr McCune has been involved in the study of lupus and systemic vasculitis and clinical trials of new therapies throughout his career and has been Director of the Lupus Program at the University of Michigan He has studied immunosuppression in lupus and vasculitis, ovarian preservation in cyclophosphamide -treated women; the role of imaging in neuropsychiatric lupus'; the pathogenesis of cardiovascular disease in lupus, and was co-PI of aa large population based study of the incidence and prevalence of SLE in Southeastern Michigan ( the MiLES project)
