I am a clinical professor in the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Michigan. I am a board-certified otolaryngologist-head and neck surgeon. Additionally, I am fellowship trained in Rhinology/Endoscopic Sinus Surgery, and I have extensive experience in the surgical and medical management of patients with diseases of the nose and paranasal sinuses, chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps and sinonasal papilloma. My clinical research interests include chronic rhinosinusitis, inflammation, and pathophysiology of sinonasal disorders, including inverting papilloma. I also have clinical and translational research experience in inverting papilloma, including investigations of prognostic factors, human papillomavirus (HPV) infection, and protein-based biomarkers in these tumors. I have been working closely with my colleagues at NOTA Laboratories, LLC, serving as a scientific advisor regarding the applications of nitric oxide analogs to the treatment of chronic rhinosinusitis, and more recently, to eradicate and treat upper respiratory viral infections with COVID19. In our Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, I serve as the Director of Culture and Engagement.
