Dr. Stefanik received his M.S. in Physical Therapy from Northeastern and his PhD in Anatomy and Neurobiology from Boston University School of Medicine where he also did a postdoctoral fellowship in Clinical Epidemiology. Dr. Stefanik’s primary research interests are in the field of knee (patellofemoral joint) osteoarthritis, knee pain, and lower extremity biomechanics. He uses both Epidemiologic and three-dimensional motion capture methods in his laboratory. His ultimate goal is to develop novel and effective rehabilitation interventions for older individuals with knee osteoarthritis.
