Daniel Whibley, PhD, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Michigan. A UK-trained physiotherapist and clinical epidemiologist, his research focuses on improving pain management through the intersection of sleep, movement, and pain. Daniel leads and collaborates on studies spanning clinical trials, wearable technologies, and implementation science, and is committed to patient partnership in research. He currently directs a nationwide NIH-funded clinical trial targeting osteoarthritis pain and digital insomnia intervention, and regularly mentors emerging researchers across career stages.
