Nunzio Bottini is a Professor of Medicine and currently serves as the Director of the Kao Autoimmunity Institute at the Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, CA. He received his M.D. from the University of Rome, where he also obtained his Ph.D. and completed his internship and residency. He received postdoctoral research training in signal transduction at the Sanford Burnham Medical Prebys Medical Discovery Institute in La Jolla, and completed a clinical fellowship in Rheumatology at the University of California, San Diego. Dr. Bottini held appointments as an Assistant Professor at the University of Rome and the University of Southern California, an Associate Professor at the La Jolla Institute for Allergy and Immunology and Professor and Rheumatology Section Chief at the University of California San Diego.
