Jay Mehta, MD is a pediatric rheumatologist and is the Program Director of Pediatric Rheumatology Fellowship at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). Dr. Mehta grew up in Las Vegas and completed his undergraduate studies at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, MA. He graduated from the University of Nevada School of Medicine and completed his pediatrics residency at the University of Colorado and Denver Children’s Hospital. His fellowship training in pediatric rheumatology was at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. He is a recipient of an RRF Clinician Scholar Educator Award to study how pediatric rheumatology trainees and early faculty make career decisions and navigate career challenges. He has been Chair of the ACR Pediatric Special Committee and now serves on the ACR Finance Committee. He serves as the Vice President for the Childhood Arthritis and Rheumatology Research Alliance. Dr. Mehta is currently on the faculty at CHOP and the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine as Professor of Clinical Pediatrics.
