Silvia Bellando Randone is an Associate Professor in the Department of Experimental and Clinical Medicine at the University of Florence and a rheumatologist at Careggi University Hospital, where she leads the Scleroderma Unit. Her clinical expertise focuses on the early diagnosis and personalized treatment of rheumatic diseases, with a particular emphasis on systemic sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, spondyloarthritis, myositis, and Sjögren’s syndrome.
Her research interests include the early diagnosis of rheumatic diseases, the role of the microbiota in disease pathogenesis, and the identification of biomarkers for disease progression and therapeutic response. She is an active member of several national and international research organizations, including the Italian Society of Rheumatology (SIR), EUSTAR, and GRAPPA.
Professor Bellando Randone has authored over 160 scientific papers and serves as a reviewer for numerous national and international journals. She also lectures in Rheumatology at the University of Florence and is frequently invited as a speaker and moderator at rheumatology congresses.
