Arissa Young is a fourth year rheumatology fellow at UCLA in the Specialty Training and Advanced Research (STAR) program. During her fellowship at UCLA, she is pursuing a PhD in Cell and Developmental Biology in the lab of Heather Christofk where she is studying the adipocyte to myofibroblast transition in systemic sclerosis. After fellowship, Arissa is interested in continuing her career in rheumatology as a physician-scientist with a focus on investigating fibrosis in systemic sclerosis.
