Yoshiya Tanaka, M.D., Ph.D. is Distinguished Professor, Department of Molecular Targeted Therapeutics, University of Occupational and Environmental Health, Japan (UOEH), Kitakyushu, Japan. He has been Professor and Chairman of the First Department of Internal Medicine (2000-2025) and Dean of Graduate School of Medical Science (2017-2023), UOEH. His extensive research portfolio includes over 1,090 peer-reviewed publications in English, with a total impact factor exceeding 6,500 and an h-index of 117. His scientific focus lies on pathological analysis and development of novel treatment in systemic autoimmune diseases, rheumatic diseases and endocrine metabolic diseases including osteoporosis. He is a president of Japan College of Rheumatology (JCR) and Japanese Association of Clinical Immunology (JSCI) and was a president of JSBMR; 2013-15. He is an associate editor of Arthritis % Rheumatology, Rheumatology, RMD Open, AR&T, IJRD and many. He has received numerous awards from Japanese Society of Inflammation, JSBMR, JCR and EULAR.
