Dr. Davis is Chair of the Division of Rheumatology and Professor of Medicine in the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. His research focuses on improving the diagnosis and treatment of patients with early inflammatory arthritis and rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Dr. Davis is director of the Mark E. and Mary A. Davis Initiative in Rheumatoid Arthritis Research. He is leading an investigation into the mechanisms of persistent pain in patients with difficult-to-treat RA. Dr. Davis collaborates on several other research projects, including studies of gene-environment interactions in RA pathogenesis, rural effects on health outcomes for persons with RA, and the impact of RA on the risk of cognitive impairment and dementia. He also has interest in adult-onset autoinflammatory syndromes, including Still’s disease and NOD2-associated autoinflammatory disease (Yao syndrome).
