Dr. John Bridges is a combined adult/pediatric rheumatologist at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He received his MD from the University of Mississippi Medical Center and a Master of Science in Sociology from Delta State University. He completed his internal medicine and pediatrics residency at University Hospital/Batson Children's Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi. He completed his combined fellowship in adult and pediatric rheumatology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham/Children's of Alabama. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Adult Rheumatology, and Pediatric Rheumatology. His professional memberships include the American College of Rheumatology, the Childhood Arthritis and Rheumatology Research Alliance, the American Academy of Pediatrics, and the Alabama Society for Rheumatic Disease. He is interested in improving outcomes related to pediatric rheumatology care as patients transition into adulthood. He has a strong interest in medical education and serves as a clinical skills scholar for medical students in addition to his role as the associate fellowship director for pediatric rheumatology.
