Ilaria Maccora, MD, PhD (she/her/hers)

She is a pediatric rheumatologist at the pediatric Rheumatology unit directed by Prof. Simonini, at Meyer Children's Hospital IRCCS, Florence. She graduated as medical doctor in 2014 at the University of Palermo, Italy and completed her residency in Pediatrics in 2020 at the University of Florence, at Meyer Children's Hospital IRCCS (Italy). During the last 2 years of pediatric residency she focused her research on pediatric rheumatology, and she attended a research period abroad at Bristol Royal Hospital for Children with Professor AV Ramanan (Nov 2019-feb 2020).
In 2021 she started her PhD in the Area of drug and Innovative treatment at the University of Florence focusing her attention on predictors of relapse in Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis.
As part of her research program she attended a research period at the Rheumatology Division of Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center joining Prof Sheila Angeles-Han and all the pediatric rheumatology team.
Her main fields of research are uveitis, JIA, JDM, autoinflammatory disease and juvenile SLE.
