Dr. Fisher serves as the Director of Research at the Lupus Foundation of America. Possessing 20 years of health research experience, he has held faculty appointments at schools of medicine and public health and consulted for health and healthcare organizations including federal and state government agencies, pharmaceutical companies, and nonprofits. An accomplished mixed (qualitative and quantitative) methodologist, Dr. Fisher utilizes a range of complex study designs, publishes on the use of qualitative methods in health systems contexts, and teaches graduate-level courses in qualitative and quantitative methods. He possesses expertise in patient-centered research and implementation science and has published in several leading healthcare journals. Dr. Fisher earned his PhD in Sociology from the University of California at San Francisco, MS in Health Systems Administration from Georgetown University, and BS in Health Promotion and Disease Prevention Studies from the University of Southern California.
