Nicolino Ruperto, MD, MPH

Nicolino Ruperto, MD, MPH, works as Full Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Milano Bicocca and Director of the Pediatric Rheumatology unit at the San Gerardo Hospital. He is Scientific Director of the Fondazione Paediatric Rheumatology International Trials Organisation (PRINTO at www.printo.it), Italy.

Dr. Ruperto earned his medical degree from the University of Pavia, Italy, with a specialization in pediatrics. He also has a specialization in pediatric rheumatology from the Children’s Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. Dr. Ruperto earned his master of public health degree from Harvard School of Public Health in Boston, Massachusetts and his Executive Master in Health Management from the Bocconi University in Milan.

Dr. Ruperto is the founder of PRINTO (PRINTO at www.printo.it), where he has managed all collaborative international academic research projects conducted by the network with over 50,000 data collected from children with pediatric rheumatic diseases from over 300 centres in more than 60 countries. He was awarded the 2005 Gerolamo Gaslini Prize for Excellence in Research from the Gerolamo Gaslini Foundation and the 2022 Distinguished International Rheumatology Professional Award the American College of Rheumatology
