Dr. Judith Ashouri-Sinha received her undergraduate degree in Neuroscience from the University of California, Los Angeles. She then attended medical school at the University of California, San Francisco and trained as a resident in Internal Medicine at Stanford, before returning to UCSF to complete a fellowship in rheumatology. During this time she pursued a post-doctorate in Immunology under the mentorship of Arthur Weiss. She is now an Assistant Professor in the Division of Rheumatology at UCSF where she splits her time between patient care and translational research in rheumatoid arthritis (RA). The over-arching goals of Dr. Ashouri’s lab are to identify antigen-activated T cells in RA in order to capture and profile arthritogenic clones and to thereby elucidate the earliest events in disease pathogenesis that could yield novel strategies to detect, treat, and ultimately prevent arthritis.
