Karen Lin is a first-year medical student at the UNT Health Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine with a background in both clinical and laboratory research. Originally from Arlington, Texas, she earned her bachelor’s degree in biology from Southern Methodist University. Her current research focuses on identifying the barriers to care that pediatric patients with localized scleroderma experience, with the hopes of increasing access to care. She is particularly interested in the intersection between social determinants of health, clinical management, and outcomes in cutaneous lupus and localized scleroderma.
