Dr. Sergio Schwartzman earned his medical degree at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at Long Island Jewish Hillside Medical Center in New Hyde Park, New York. His fellowship was conducted in the Department of Rheumatic Diseases at the New York Hospital and the Hospital for Special Surgery.
Dr. Schwartzman has edited, authored or coauthored over 140 articles, abstracts, books, and book chapters concerning rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, lupus, autoimmune ophthalmic disease, Whipple’s disease, Inflammatory Bowel Disease and related topics. He has been a member of the American College of Rheumatology, the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, the Spondyloarthritis Research and Treatment Network (SPARTAN), the American Uveitis Society and the Group for Research and Assessment of Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis (GRAPPA).
