Dr. Broens is a medical doctor with a passion for advancing the understanding and treatment of systemic autoimmune diseases. After completing a Bachelor’s degree in Health and Life Sciences, Dr. Broens earned her medical degree in 2019. Following graduation, she worked as a physician in internal medicine for over a year, gaining valuable hands-on experience in patient care and complex clinical cases.
Driven by a deep interest in systemic sclerosis—especially interstitial lung disease—Dr. Broens began pursuing a PhD focusing on clinical and translational research in this field. She is currently training as a rheumatologist while completing her PhD studies. Dr. Broens’s ongoing research and clinical practice aim to improve outcomes for people affected by systemic sclerosis and related autoimmune conditions.
