Kavina Sathiyasothy, MD, MPH, is a PGY-3 Internal Medicine resident at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School – Trinitas Regional Medical Center. She is pursuing a fellowship in rheumatology, driven by her commitment to advancing care for patients with autoimmune and inflammatory conditions. Her research interests include autoimmune diseases and inflammatory arthritis, with a growing focus on health disparities in rheumatologic care and public education around autoimmune conditions.
During residency, Dr. Sathiyasothy has contributed to multiple research initiatives, including a quality improvement project on infectious disease screening in outpatient settings, which was recognized as a poster finalist at the 2025 ACP Internal Medicine Meeting. She is also a dedicated advocate for equitable healthcare, volunteering at the Trinitas Rheumatology Charity Clinic to educate patients about autoimmune diseases and address barriers related to health literacy, social determinants, and access to care.
Dr. Sathiyasothy is excited to present her research at ACR Convergence 2025 and looks forward to collaborating with peers and mentors in the rheumatology community.
