Dr. Hideto Kameda graduated from School of Medicine, Keio University in 1990 and advanced to Graduate School of Keio University. After finishing his clinical training and basic research, he received his PhD degree from Keio University and moved to NIEHS/NIH, North Carolina, USA in 1997 as a visiting research fellow of the laboratory of molecular carcinogenesis. In 2000, he moved to Saitama Medical Center, Kawagoe, Japan, and then once returned to Keio University in 2009. Currently, Dr. Kameda is a Professor at Division of Rheumatology, Department of Internal Medicine, School of Medicine, Toho University. He has published over 200 peer reviewed articles, and his research interest is not only clinical research in spondyloarthritides, rheumatoid arthritis and lupus and but also basic/translational research for molecular understanding of refractory rheumatic diseases to develop novel therapeutic strategy for them. Dr. Kameda is the president of the Japan Spondyloarthritis Society, a director of the Japan Society for Clinical Immunology and the Japanese Society of Inflammation and Regeneration, and a councilor of Japan College of Rheumatology.
