Discovery research and patient partnerships enable paths to more effectively diagnose and treat arthritis. Care for arthritis across the age spectrum follows a traditional paradigm of gradually stepping up treatment, accepting disease chronicity, and accumulation of damage. In childhood arthritis, large, highly effective consortia have been established around the world to understand the biologic basis of arthritis, establish a measurement framework and treat-to-target strategies, and build and enact patient/caregivers-co-designed decision making and value framework. This session will share recent discoveries and highlight enablers, such as data science and eHealth technology in the basic, translational, and clinical science space. Most importantly, it will focus on the transformational integration and impact in care, including examples of real-life team science and their implementation. It will mobilize our patients and pediatric rheumatology community to jointly pave the way to a cure of arthritis.
