In today’s fast-paced clinical environments, teaching evidence-based medicine (EBM) is both essential and challenging. With the number of publications rising rapidly every year in rheumatology, this a skill that is needed now more than ever. This session offers clinician educators practical strategies to seamlessly integrate EBM instruction into their daily routines using the "Five Steps of EBM Practice Model." Participants will work through real-world scenarios to refine their teaching skills in developing PICO-TT questions, efficiently locating and appraising evidence, and translating findings into patient-centered care. Through engaging, small-group activities, attendees will explore effective methods for teaching EBM to diverse learners, including medical students, residents, and fellows, while addressing common obstacles, such as time constraints and resource limitations. By the end of the session, participants will leave with actionable tools to foster EBM teaching and promote evidence-based practices within their teams.
