Engleman Professor and Chief of Rheumatology, Director of the Rheumatology Clinical Research Center, clinical researcher, and practicing rheumatologist at the University of California, San Francisco. I lead an integrated clinical and research program devoted to two closely-related goals: (i) to improve our understanding of the molecular and epidemiologic basis for systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE); and (ii) to develop novel approaches for the treatment of SLE.
