I am an internist and hold a Master’s degree in Chemical and Biological Sciences. I currently serve as the rheumatology residency coordinator at the National Institute of Medical Sciences and Nutrition, Salvador Zubirán, specializing in the study of post-translational modifications—such as ubiquitination, ISGylation, and NETosis—and their impact on immune responses, particularly in systemic autoimmune diseases such as systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and idiopathic inflammatory myopathies (IIM).
My current focus is on identifying novel humoral and cellular biomarkers applicable to neuro-rheumatology. I have strong expertise in high-resolution techniques, including multiparametric and spectral flow cytometry, confocal microscopy, western blot, immunoprecipitation, and molecular dynamics simulations.
Additionally, I am actively involved in training future healthcare professionals, supervising undergraduate students both in clinical settings and research environments.
