Dr. Nelson completed her medical school training at the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine, Spartanburg Campus. She then moved to Augusta, GA to complete her Pediatric Residency at the Medical College of Georgia, followed by a Pediatric Rheumatology fellowship at Emory University - Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. She is currently a Translational Scholar at the NIH where she is studying the role of rare variants and methylation in SLE development.
