UPMC
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States
I am a pediatric rheumatology fellow at the UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh. My current research is primarily focused on mechanisms of fibrosis involved in pediatric scleroderma. Previously, I completed pediatrics residency at the University of Toledo. I earned my DO at Michigan State University where I also completed a PhD with research characterizing a new biomarker (sTRA) for pancreatic cancer, in part through the development of novel quantitative pathology methods. Before graduate school, I worked in biopharma contributing to the development of enzyme replacement therapies for rare diseases and in genomics developing SNP panels predictive of multigenic traits. I completed my undergraduate training at UC Santa Cruz with a BS in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and a BA in Economics.
