After attending medical school at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine (2001-2005), Dr. Phillips completed his Internal Medicine residency and Rheumatology fellowship at Washington University St. Louis (2005-2010). He founded Paducah Rheumatology (Paducah, KY) in 2010, and has been in solo private practice rheumatology since then. He has been active in clinical research through Four Rivers Clinical Research (Paducah, KY). He served on the ACR Committee on Rheumatologic Care between 2016-2018, and chaired the ACR Insurance subcommittee between 2018-2021. He served on the ACR COVID-19 Practice and Advocacy Task Force and the RHIT committee and now chairs the Committee on Rheumatologic Care (CORC).
