Current position: Professor Emeritus in the Division of Rheumatology at the University of Washington.

I have spent 35 years at the University of Washington as a clinician educator and have served as the fellowship program director.
My interests have been in medical education, teaching arthrocentesis and injection skills to clinicians, and in combined clinics at UW. I have helped develop three such clinics at the University of Washington combining rheumatology with dermatology, neuromuscular diseases, and ILD and currently see patients in the combined ILD/Rheumatology clinic.

I have served on several committees for the ACR/ARP and the ACP including annual meeting planning committees and ACP MKSAP committees. I am currently serving as the chair of the AMPC.

Honors include:
Master of the American College of Physicians,
Laurate Teaching award from the Washington chapter of the American College of Physicians,
Gilliland Teaching award University of Washington,
Arthritis Foundation Teacher of the Year Award,
Paul Beeson Teaching Award University of Washington.

I also do outreach at 3 Native American Clinics in WA state.
